Starting from scratch

Hello everyone...again. I already posted today, but decided to start over. After an afternoon of prayer, and much reflection I've decided to get out of the muck and mire of dysfunctional relationships, get cleaned up, and move on. If others CHOOSE to stay in the slop of the past...then so be it.
I would like to sincerely thank the ladies that left such loving and encouraging comments about the original post from earlier today. Thank you for the prayers, and kind words.

This new place I'm in...blogland...is remarkable. So many wonderful people here. It's become quite a blessing for me.
I am realizing the beauty around me, more and more. In the gardens, almost daily. All the changes in our home because of the ideas, and shared photos that bloggers are constantly putting on here for everyone to enjoy. It's like a whole new journey...one that won't be hampered by past hurts, and unforgiveness.(previous post).

So...with this new post, I'm moving forward. Leaving behind the "stuff" that gets in the way of, and hinders joy. Look out world...cause I'm back on track!!!! Praise God!!!!!
LOVE you guys.
Debbie

  1. Good for you ;)
Have a wonderful weekend, Debbie. Your arrangement of flowers is beautiful on the table, I'm thinking they're pentas and yarrow? I love your garden flowers looking through the windows in the back too, they look very cheerful almost coming through the window there.

  2. I had just read your first post in my reader and came to comment and it was gone. Now I see you reposted. Glad you have found some peace, or at least it seems you have.

I think if relationships are stressful and cause more pain then joy then it might be time to let go. That's just for me. I know you need to do what you need to do. I hope it all works out for you. ((hugs))

  9. I missed the first post too.
But since hurt and difficulty w/forgiveness is a universal experience, I have empahty for you without knowing.

I rejoice in new starts! I love your attitude, and (BTW) LOVE your flowers. New life in an old vessel. I would say they are VERY appropriate for this post.

  11. Debbie-I just got home from work. I am sorry for your struggle, whatever it is, but I know that you are a woman of faith and that helps us all move beyond the present disappointments and hardships of the moment.

One of these days I will email you and tell you about the sadness that has infected my family and the hurts that have fallen on innocent shoulders. In saying that, I think that most of us can sympathize with your pain and have a lot of empathy for you because we have all experienced it on some level-some more than others. God bless you, my friend... and although we haven't known each other long- I know you~ Diana

  13. Thanks for stopping by earlier... I had planned to come back here & tell you what I used to tell teen girls that I worked with.
"YOU are a child of the King, He holds you as precious. Don't you dare let someone in, that doesn't feel the same way about you"
Now, I was talking to them about boyfriends, & I believe that we need to invest in people & be Jesus to them, but not be a doormat.
    You deserve more than that.
I have a hard time with that sometimes... we all want to be liked. So we try so hard....

Glad that you are feeling better... Have a great weekend out at your Lake House!!!

( & PS.. ditto on this Blogland deal... I am so new, but loving it already :)

  14. Hi Debbie,
I missed your earlier post. Hope you are doing ok. The wonderful thing about blogging is that it can really lift us up. To me it is like therapy! Hubby lost his job last week, and I have been very stressed about it, to say the least. I don't want to mention it in my blog, as I want to keep things there positive. A belated thanks on the award! You are so sweet! Have a great weekend :)

  15. I'm so thankful you've came to a peaceful conclusion to your problem. It's impossible to have a one sided relationship. Sometimes people come around, mature, grow up and sometimes they never do. I think God expects us to try our best....not torture ourselves. Take care!

  17. Debbie - I'm so sorry I missed your earlier post. I wish I had been there for you to help lift you back on your feet.....but I guess God did it for me. :) I'm so glad he did. I know that all the prayers that go up from all of us 'blogging sisters' out here, do make miracles happen. I SO agree about the encouragement, support, and love that's out there when we blog and comment. What a wonderful place this is - and what a blessing we can all be to each other. :)

  18. I've so wanted to live near water for so long now. What a gift you have!

I'm out visiting blogs, and cant wait to see more of your beautiful home. Oh and the hollyhocks,,this was my first summer having some to enjoy, mine were pink. We had to cut them way down due to the Japanese beetles..which hopefully after setting up the traps tonight--they will die off.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  21. Hi Debbie, I too just read your first post in Goggle Reader but couldn't bring it up in a separate web page to comment. How long is enough? I keep asking myself the same question and wondering when I'll find the answer. A person can just keep giving and overlooking another's faults and insults for only so long. How many times do you get slapped in the face before you stop turning the other cheek?
I hope things change for you. I think there is some of what you talk about in every family which is truly a shame.
    Chin up!
    xoxo
