Woodwork shelves

Good sunny, HOT morning lovies~~whew, it's hot and humid this morning. I guess we'll just have to go out on the boat today....*wink.
I wanted to share my cute shelves that hubby put together for me. We got the idea from Rog and Laurie at Heaven's Walk. They made some for their beautiful home using scrap pieces of woodwork. Rog had a box full of pieces in his barn, and shared some with us. We added pieces off our own scrap pile and ended up with a couple of nice looking shelves to hang here at lakehouse.
Hubby put hooks on this one for the downstairs bath. I love how it looks in there....it added a beachy tone. I put together a pan of other beachy items to go with the shelf.

I would absolutely love to paint the bead board white in this room...but I promised to leave one room in this lakehouse with actual "wood" showing. It's a "man thing".

Little does hubby know I'm planning to paint the upstairs bead board white once winter comes...another *wink.
Once that bath gets a couple coats of white paint, I'll ask for more shelves made from the vintage woodwork scraps. Maybe I should have the shelves made BEFORE I paint the bead board.
Time to get the boat loaded up for another scorcher of a day here at lakehouse.
mmmmmmm....summer.
Smooches....
Debbie

  16. What is it with men and their wood?! We've got a couple pieces of furniture that I want to paint, but hubby wants them left the natural wood color. Oh well, he asks for so little around here, so I'll leave it alone! I love your shelves and all of your white accents. It all looks so fresh and beachy!
    Happy White Wednesday!
