Cozy Saturday

Good Saturday morning friends.
It's one of those lazy mornings here at the lakehouse.
It's cold outside, so we have a fire going.
Hubby is sipping a cup of coffee, and I'm wandering around the house...enjoying the sun dancing on the water.
I know I'm a little early for Thanksgiving, but it's one of my favorite holidays...so it's hard to wait to move on from Halloween. I've already changed things on my blog, making the transition to Turkey Time.

All of our kids and grandkids live three hours south, so changing things over is easy for me.
I don't want to rush through life...but LOVE the house all cozy and warm for the next holiday.
Hubby repaired the arbor and fencing from the wind storms. So things are back to normal outside.
He's getting ready for his hunting trip. That will leave me time to get some house work done. Being sick all week took it's toll on the house.
I'm just rambling this morning...sorry.
I hope you are able to enjoy some fun this weekend..with family and friends. It's a fun time of year...get out and have a blast!!
Happy Halloween!
Debbie~~~I'm late for Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage...but I'm sharing with Courtney for the party. Go over there and see what everyone is sharing!!

  1. I love this post and you wouldn't believe that I just did a set of photos in B&W to do a post!
It's a bit nippy here this morning- 43. DH is going out to pull the tomato vines this morning and get that tidied up and I'm going to start pulling the Halloween decor today and start changing it over for Thanksgiving/ fall.
Have a good weekend and take it easy!

  2. Debbie-What a beautiful post. I have ALWAYS loved Thanksgiving from the time I was a kid. I have had to work on Thanksgiving for two years now-last year and this year. For some reason...people don't stop getting sick on Holidays. I get paid well for working but would prefer to be home with family. MyHero is also on call over the weekend too so we may both be here together.

Your pictures are softly beautiful and I love being able to picture you as you describe what you are doing. There is nothing like walking around your house with a cup of something warm and wonderful on a weekend morning...and watching the light sparkle across the water. It is good to be home! Hugs- Diana

  3. I love Thanksgiving and it's the only holiday now that I have the family come in. Others in my family have taken over Christmas and Easter and in the rest of the holidays, I'm at the camper. Most of mine are a few hours away too. Some even further so I've lots of time to spend here getting things ready. It's a good thing because it takes me more time to do it too. I do hope you are feeling better. It's a dreary cold day here so I'll be indoors more than out for sure. Take care!

  5. I love your black & white photos, Debbie. It's like seeing your house in a house in a whole new way. Did you inherit a lot of your pieces or is everything from thrifting? I could just wander around your home all day!!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Halloween. Oh, love the new blog design and enjoyed listening to Kenny G!!

    XO,

  6. Hi Debbie,
Love your photos, and your new blog look! Glad to hear that you are feeling better:) I love Thanksgiving, too! What's not to love about a holiday where no gifts have to be purchase, it's all about the food! We have a fire going too, trying to hold off on turning the furnace on, though I think we will have to break down and use it this weekend! Have a great one!

  15. Hi Debbie! the winds were pretty strong down here, the furniture was blowing all over the yard! 2 days straight for the crazy Michigan winds to whip around, we stayed cozy inside. Your home looks beautiful as always, and I'm right there with you on decorating for Thanksgiving, I want to get the turkey dishes out! I hope you are feeling better, Theresa xoxo

  17. I love Thanksgiving too--I love to be inspired to give thanks daily. I am not much into Halloween--we did get 350 kids here in one hour (and they were adorable!) ; we ran out of candy and had to close doors and shut off our lights!
