Just Because

That's what the tag says....Just Because.
Wonderful people keep sending well wishes. So nice that while healing, bloggers still have you in their thoughts and prayers.
With the sweet cards, came a box with some clay tags wrapped inside.  Laurie, from Heaven's Walk, sent a thoughtful gift....Just Because.  I especially love this cute one with the heart imprinted in it.

Each one is perfect!!! They are hanging in different spots, so where ever I go, I see one, and think of my loving sis.
Do something special for someone today......Just Because.....
Hugs to you all.

A cheery surprise, and some vintage farmhouse pieces.

Hello blogging friends.
There was a surprise on the porch yesterday afternoon.  Sweet Sue @Rue-Mouffetard sent this cheery package. There's tea, shortbread cookies, a fun mug, and a wonderful card.
The people in blogland are truly amazing!!!
Thank you for thinking of me Sue!!!!
While recovering from surgery, I got a little bored. I decided to re-hang(actually Mr. Lakehouse hung the rack for me) the pot rack, and dig out a few of my vintage farmhouse pieces.  I've always had a vintage farmhouse kitchen. After painting last spring, I put away a lot of the pieces I had hanging around.

The blue farm bowls, and rolling pins have always been a favorite for me.  The bakers table was a piece that was left-over from my shop. I just couldn't part with it...especially love the tin surface.
It gave me a  spot for one of the seedbags found while shopping with Laurie, from Heaven's Walk, at the antique market last summer.

I've been a clutter-bug forever...having "stuff" everywhere is a normal thing for me.  I love the clean look of the white cupboards, but keeping things put away just isn't me. So out came all the vintage shakers, graters, pans, measuring cups, etc.

I'll probably get bored with this by summer..but for now..I'm lovin' it!
I hope you have had a fun day...bringing out some old favorites, or putting a few things away for awhile.
Time for a little nap.
Love to you all!
Debbie

Great reports!!!

I've been walking around the house this afternoon. Noticing everything with new eyes.
The air is cold and still, yet the snowflakes tumble down, lazily...resting on a bed of white. It's so quiet.
I can hear only the sound of God's voice.
I wondered what the purpose for this whole situation was....and He said, "I had everything under control".
"What if you hadn't started to bleed? What if the cancer was not found?  No one would have known about the intestines being so thin. They would have ruptured, and you could have died." "The cancer was just the beginning of your journey." "You still have a ways to travel, but I will be with you all the way through."

Have you ever heard His voice in an almost audible tone?  The quieter it is, the louder He gets!
The doctor's final reports were awesome! The cancer hadn't penetrated too far into the uterine wall, so radiation isn't necessary...Praise God!  The intestines are healing where the section was removed...tomorrow I start decreasing the meds. What seemed like an eternity, is now just a few short weeks.  I still need a pelvic every six months, and chest xrays, and CT scans twice a year. My body is healing, and I feel will respond even faster now that we got the great news!!!
Thank you for all of the prayers said on my behalf.
I am grateful to everyone of you here in blogland.
I ask God to bless you as much as you have blessed me.
Much love,
Debbie

On the mend....

Hello everyone!
I wanted to get a post out to thank you all for the prayers, cards, gifts, comments and encouragement these past few weeks.
I finally got home  last Thursday. I had to be re-admitted, last week, because of a Crohn's Disease flare up.
While in surgery, the docs discovered my intestines were fused together by scar tissue, and were in a big jumbled up mess. Before removing the uterus, tubes, ovaries, etc. they had to cut through all the scar tissue, then remove a piece of the small intestine. A two hour surgery turned into five hours.
I am just sooo thankful to be home.   This morning I've been going through all the cards and letters from everyone.  Laurie even sent a box full of comments and well wishes from posts about the situation here.
What a blessing you are to me.
The outpouring of love and support from all of you here in blog-land has been amazing!!!
We will get the final test results on Wednesday, to see if the cancer has spread, or was contained.
Thank you for your prayers...it is helping me, and my family as we go along this journey.
again...thank you...and God Bless You!!!
Love,
Debbie

You bless me....

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me. Ps. 118:5
I love the Lord, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications.
Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live. Ps. 116:1,2.
I can't stay long, because..for some reason... the computer makes me feel dizzy...don't understand why.  I want to thank every single one of you for your prayers and lovely words.
This place called blog-land is a special place. It's filled with caring hearts, and kindred spirits.
The tests came back with less than desirable news.  They have diagnosed uterine cancer. A complete hysterectomy is scheduled for 1/11/11. Lymph nodes will also be removed. Then the decision will be made if radiation therapy will be needed.(Previous post explains.)
Thank you sweet sister of mine, Laurie(from Heaven's Walk) for the call for prayer warriors. The peace that transcends all understanding is washing over us as we walk this road. I so appreciate all the prayers being sent up, and the loving comments left at our blog sites.
The call to prayer tag on Tete's blog is so heart-warming...thank you!
I received some beautiful cards from blog-sisters...they brought tears to my eyes...thank you!!!
The diabetes is being controlled with diet and meds.  The CT scan with contrast on the heart came back good, so the surgery is a "go".
I'm very tired, have good days, as well as "not" so good. But will continue to trust God...knowing that whatever the outcome, HE is in control.
Please continue to pray for my family, as they are struggling, I found a lump in the groin area that needs to be biopsied...
God Bless you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love,
Debbie
