A cheery surprise, and some vintage farmhouse pieces.

Hello blogging friends.
There was a surprise on the porch yesterday afternoon.  Sweet Sue @Rue-Mouffetard sent this cheery package. There's tea, shortbread cookies, a fun mug, and a wonderful card.
The people in blogland are truly amazing!!!
Thank you for thinking of me Sue!!!!
While recovering from surgery, I got a little bored. I decided to re-hang(actually Mr. Lakehouse hung the rack for me) the pot rack, and dig out a few of my vintage farmhouse pieces.  I've always had a vintage farmhouse kitchen. After painting last spring, I put away a lot of the pieces I had hanging around.

The blue farm bowls, and rolling pins have always been a favorite for me.  The bakers table was a piece that was left-over from my shop. I just couldn't part with it...especially love the tin surface.
It gave me a  spot for one of the seedbags found while shopping with Laurie, from Heaven's Walk, at the antique market last summer.

I've been a clutter-bug forever...having "stuff" everywhere is a normal thing for me.  I love the clean look of the white cupboards, but keeping things put away just isn't me. So out came all the vintage shakers, graters, pans, measuring cups, etc.

I'll probably get bored with this by summer..but for now..I'm lovin' it!
I hope you have had a fun day...bringing out some old favorites, or putting a few things away for awhile.
Time for a little nap.
Love to you all!
Debbie

  4. Oh- I am so glad to see you up and about and putzing! I am glad to see you hauling out some stuff that makes you feel happy...cuz that is what life is about...the little things that make us happy. I do the same thing...pack things away and then kind of miss them afer awhile. I think we may pack some stuff up for quite a while as we are thinking about selling come Spring. We'll see but that is kind of what our intentions are right now.

Love, love, love those blue bowls. I gave all my blue to my daughter but now wish I had kept a bit of it for myself...and I have a couple of the old yellow ware bowls still.

Back to work- break is over-Have a great afternoon! Hugs- Diana

  5. Tweeking is a sure fire sign of getting better! I am so glad to see you reaaranging things and shaking it up a bit. (In between naps, of course)
I left you a comment earlier on getting your thank you card.
Surround yourself with things and people that make you smile. It will make the time pass faster and you will heal faster, too. Just keep your pillow close for all the laughter that will fill your home in the days to come.
    Behave yourself- Tete

  6. It is fun to change things up--and it is fun to look at old things . They seem to conjure up memories or ideas from the past and bring happy thoughts to mind.

Hope you gain strength as the days pass!

I love all of your farmhouse pieces...the rolling pins and bowls. The table is fantastic...how I wish I had room for one of those and a pot rack in my kitchen! We are so alike, clutterbugs. I try to keep my kitchen simple and it lasts about 5 minutes! lol!

    Have a happy weekend, sweetie!

  14. Hi...I love your kitchen..the big blue bowl.. but my favorite is the pot rack...I could not cook if it wasn't for my pot rack...my neighbor always tells me how over filled it is but I love it!...One night at 4:00 A.M. we heard a huge crash and I thought for sure it finally had given way...But no it was our ceiling fan that fell from the ceiling...So the pot rack remains filled to the brim....I will have to e-mail you a picture so when you think you have too much stuff... you can see that you can never have to much stuff!!

  16. Hi Debbie Sweetie...
I am so tickled to see you up and about. I am new to your blog. I have read about you all over the place and wanted to pop in and say hello. I am Country Wings in Phoenix.

You sweet friend have been in my prayers. I have been praising God for the wonderful news you have shared about your health. It does make you see things in a new light doesn't it? We do learn to slow down and take time to smell the flowers.

I love your kitchen and that baker's table is exquisite. I can see why you treasure it so. It's the little things that make us smile each morning when we walk through our homes.

Thank you for the beautiful share today. Again, I am so thrilled to meet you. I hope you will pop by one day and say hello. I too, would love to have you follow my blog. I would love to make you smile a few times each week. I love sharing and meeting new friends. Many country hugs sweet friend, Sherry

  17. Floofing and fluffing is such a good sign, Debbie! It does mean that you must be feeling so much better. ♥ I love the idea that you're getting some of your farmhouse wares out to mingle with the beachy feel of your home. I think the two go together just perfectly! And I'm SURE you're aware that I'm totally jealous of that awesome bakers table, sis! lol! Continue to heal and I will continue to thank God for you. :)

  24. Hi Debbie!
So fun to see a comment from you! That means you are feeling better for sure...I'm so happy for you!!!
I had a pink bedroom as a little girl and begged to change it as I got a little older...to blue! All my life I never liked pink until recently and I can't belive it! Funny how we change out tastes as we get older.
    So glad you are back!!!
