I'm home again....

I just want to thank you all for the prayers, and cards, and gifts you've sent as I walk(very slowly) this journey.
I am home, for the fourth time since December 19th. This last stay in the hospital was a LONG one. I had a perforated bowel, and then an abscess.  The pain was brutal, and the recovery has been slow.
I have been home for a week now, and am finally off the IV's. A nurse came everyday to help us hook up the lipids, and nutrients that kept me going.  The central line was taken out three days ago.
I am eating little by little...things taste "off" because of the drugs I'm taking...but at least yogurt, scrambled eggs, and soup are better than chewing ice chips for the past three weeks!!
If the Crohn's Disease flares again, I'll have to have some major surgery...we are hoping this last episode will be the end of this whole thing.
It's been slow....but I am hoping God will keep me strong, and faithful.
Thank you all again, for the comments and prayers.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you guys!!!!!

Change is good...sometimes.

Being snowed in has it's disadvantages. The ADD kicks in, and I get bored. The first thing that comes out, are the scissors.
Mr. Lakehouse knows if the bathroom door is locked, I'm cutting my hair.
He also knows that I will be awhile, because of the empty box of hair color, or highlighter he saw in the trash.
My hair seems to have gotten ALOT grayer since the news just before the holidays.
Soooooooooo....instead of covering the gray, I just added some highlights, and lowlights.
Since I usually wear my nerd glasses, I took the pic with them on....LOLOLOL!!
Anyway...with the new year, I thought I'd go shorter. Now my earrings show, and I DO LOVE big earrings!
I DO NOT take good pictures, but my new attitude toward "life" lets me throw care to the wind, and just "be".
I am ready for our trip to Sanibel Island...well, my head is ready. My body is another story...I'm working on that tho.
If the fat doesn't come off, I'll be sure to get a tanning package...it's like wearing dark colors...you always look slimmer.

Count your blessings

Good morning to everyone out there in blogland!
Today I'm sharing some pics of my favorite things...people.
I did not include any pics that had me in them...these were taken two days after the cancer diagnoses, and I was not looking my best.
These are my guys. Mr. Lakehouse is with our son in laws and  two grandsons.
This is my oldest, Kelly and Dan, with Ethan, Kayla, and Anson. Kayla is a little fireball, with red hair and green eyes. Ethan is the oldest, and Anson the youngest.  Dan is a teacher, and Kelly works in Special Education.

Erin is my middle daughter. Tony is her college sweetheart. They work at the same offices...Tony an accountant, and Erin a loan officer.  Their oldest is Zoey, and the baby is Sadie Grace.

My youngest daughter is Melissa. Mel works for an insurance company in the office. She's a single mom with two girls...Maddie the oldest, and Charlotte... the one with a major attitude! What goes around, comes around I always say.

A perfect example of Charlie doing whatever she wants, with the others laughing at her naughty behavior....as ususal.

Seriously....I am one blessed woman! Mr. Lakehouse is a gem, always doing things for me to make me happy. My girls are there for me whenever I need them. Dan and Tony are the best son in laws ever! and my grandkids are so precious, I cannot even talk about them without tearing up.
I have pictutres of all the kids all over the house. If I feel a little down, all I have to do is look at these adorable faces, and I start to smile.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
I have Valentine cards to send...

Snowed in....

Hello everyone!
So how is the weather where you live?
Here at the Lakehouse we woke up to this!

It's actually sunny this afternoon. The snow stopped, and the wind isn't as ferocious. Even tho the snow is deep, it all looks really neat!
I hope you were able to dig out today, and get some awesome pics.
LOVE being snowed in!!
See ya......
