Flea Market Fun....

Good afternoon.
I trust your weekend was good.
I spent Sunday with my sweet sis from Heaven's Walk, Laurie...and also with Michelle from Emerald Cove.
We went to the antique/flea market in Allegan.
We had never met Michelle in person, so this was a real treat. She's such a fun person, with a great personality. Kind of felt like the three muskateers(stooges).
While shopping the flea market, we saw this awesome sign! hmmmm. what a great name for a blog....

Not saying all bloggers are obsessed, but some of us cannot even eat fried pickles without first making a tabletop vignette.

I snapped this picture for Rebecca over at Ella Mae's Barn Gatherings, because she LOVES pink!
This cute little urn got scooped up to put on my wicker desk...next to some previous finds at the market.

I seem to have this obsession for vintage bird cages. Last year I bought two at the market. This year I found this totally awesome rusted green one!!!!

The wicker table was a fantastic buy! Laurie surprised me with the framed picture from our trip to Sanibel, and a few other sweet treasures. My little "wicker corner" is coming along quite nicely.
I didn't buy this chair at the market, but did find it recently at a vintage shop for just $12.00. I like how it fits in with the other pieces. Seems like I'm kind of crazy for flower frogs too, because I bought a couple more at the market. You can see one on the table with a little pic in it.

Then there was this NOT quite equally spaced hook rack. But, I don't care. Now that I'm adding sea greens and blues here at the lakehouse, the color of the rack is perfect!!!!! I'm lovin' it with all the other vintage things (stuff) in the corner of the dining room.

Once I have the large urn filled and in place, I'll post that too.
I had such a good time with Laurie and Michelle. What a blessing to be able to shop with kindred spirits.
We plan to go back to the market next month.
Until then, I'll be playing with all of my new things...placing them here and there in this old lakehouse.
Enjoy your day!

Debbie

I am soo jealous that I can hardly read your blog today!;>) Just kidding- You know I love that you girls have so much fun together and I may have to shove that Michelle chick outta the way when I finally get to "the other side"...sounds dramatic, doesn't it? Like I am going over to the DARK side...when we all know that Laurie is BLOND! Truly blond....did I say that?;>)

Okay...back to work for me. I have such a long couple of weeks ahead of me. Not much time to play and even less to sleep. Love to you my Lake House friend. Tell me...did you buy that sign? Surely you did!!! xo Diana

  10. What a fun outing! I am glad that you got to meet a fellow blogger/kindred spirit! Looks like a great market! So funny, as anything called a "flea market" back in my corner of Michigan always meant "junk market"! You found some great treasures, love the coat rack, it is perfectly imperfect:)

  12. What a Fabulous Post ~ So Happy you 3 gals had a wonderful time.... Now, I mapquested Allegan, it is far from where You live, so were you at Laurie's house? Your in Houghton Lake, Aren't You? Where is Michelle from? One day when I have a working vehicle, I need to meet up too, Only 2.5 to Allegan & 3 to your place. I went all the way to Georgia last year & met Dawn from The Feathered Nest... (OK, truth be told, I was visiting Family in Georgia & it was the Cherry on top to meet up with Dawn) but One Day, We Have To!
    So Glad you had fun....

  16. I see that MY birdcage and MY little urn are quite happily living in their sweet new vignettes......for now, that is. Bwahahaha! Love what you did with all of your treasures, sis! Just perfect! I'm working on cleaning up mine and doing some more floofing over here. Sounds like we're going to have to juice Diana up a little with some FatCat*HappyDog wine before we take her to the flea market when she visits - so that she won't be bullying poor little Michelle! lolol! MISS YOU!!!!! ♥
