Random shots, or a lesson?

I was taking some random pictures this morning.
No theme, or reason for the shots.

I sat down to load them in the computer, and moved a tablet.
A little piece of paper slid out of the tablet, and floated to the floor.
It was from a fortune cookie.

I never save those things.
I don't read horoscopes, or go to fortune tellers.
For some reason...this little piece of paper was saved.

Maybe I was saving it for a rainy day, or in this case, a snowy day.

Typed in red ink, it says...."Stop searching forever. Happiness is right next to you."
I've learned to let go of things from the past that have been hurtful...I lost so many blessings due to grief, and despair.
I hope I'm not over looking today, searching for the things that tomorrow "might" bring.
There are people praying for just one more day....people with a terminal illness. I don't want to squander even a moment.
As I walked through the house, taking random pictures, it all brought me to the little piece of paper with the red ink.
What we see as random, God sees as a plan....a lesson.
What did you learn today?

  1. I learned that I love you more with each passing day and that God is with you.
Hope you are having a great snowy day inside and have a chance to smile the afternoon away!

  2. Cool; I love it when things like this happen! It is like God is sending a little message to remind you. I had something funny happen today. I was preparing a post for tomorrow when some how I put 46 or so of my posts into draft forms. So I had to go through and publish them --or tell them to publish. But I didn't check everyone and now I wonder what may have published. Some may have been empty--or whatever--but they are back , hopefully where they don't get read ! Except someday by me!

  3. That is such a great reminder, isn't it, Debbie? Makes me think of last year, when I was cleaning under the couch cushions. This was before I knew we'd be moving from Michigan. Anyway, beneath the cushion I found Jesus! Well, Jesus on a prayer card! I about died, as I hadn't remembered ever seeing it before. And there He was, looking at me, and trying to tell me something, I'm sure! I still have the card, brought it all the way out here. Guess sometimes we need to be quiet to hear what He has to say. Gee, I'm starting to sound like you, aren't I?:)

  5. Sometimes God gives us a nudge or a message in an unexpected way. Sometimes I'm looking so hard for the rainbow that I forget to appreciate the rain.

  7. Beautifully written, Debbie. I believe that "being" in each moment, each day - is the first step in eucharisteo. :) I am learning along with you, sis - to be grateful for each and every breath and each and every flutter of my heart. God was truly speaking to you through that slip of paper today. He loves you so much! ♥ [and so do I]...

  8. I love the message of your little scrap of paper. I recently found an old book called Miracle Living that I am using as part of my devotions. I'm learning that there are hundreds of miracles all around us at all times. We just have to open our eyes to see them. Often I go rushing headlong into my day and totally miss all the miracles and blessings God has granted me.

You are a miracle friend...someone God lead me to through our blogs. Sorry I haven't popped in for a while. I needed a breather from projects, but I have often thought of you and would love to go "shoppin" again soon!
