Playing with my camera.

It's a cold, windy, rainy Tuesday morning here at the Lakehouse.
I wanted to be outside working on the window boxes....but instead, I'm inside playing with my camera.

There are so many different settings, and a lens that I am learning to use.
I started shooting a few photos to see what I could come up with.
WARNING: amateur images ahead.

I got the matting on the corners all wrong when I was finishing these.

I like this one, but the rose didn't turn out as clear as I wanted.

My husband liked this one, but I should have cropped the angel wings on the right.
Anyway....I had other photos, but these were the only ones I dared to share.
Maybe I'll put on some rain gear, and tackle some window boxes.
Have a nice afternoon!
Debbie

    Beautiful.

  3. Hi dear Debbie,
It's hot - 90, humid and hazy, plus the pollen count is extremely high today in Philadelphia. So I'm doing inside projects in Central air today. I think your photography is beautiful, new camera - Fun... I want two windows boxes in front, under the living room and bedroom windows. But the windows are double width and I need to have them made for me. So with all the other work I'm just saving pics for next Spring. I look forward to seeing your window box planting for inspiration. Debbie I enjoyed my visit to your Lakehouse.

  7. I have trouble with close ups with my new camera. My old camera was much easier for some reason. I'm still working on it.

Yours turned out great and everything looks beautiful as usual. xo

  10. I love all the pictures but especially the rose one! Most of the time I use my phone camera any more to take pictures but the results are not half as good. You do have some wonderful things to take pictures of too. Nice to see what you came up with!

  11. I am terrible about learning how to use my camera. I just go with whatever it shoots.

It is still snowing off and on here, so I too am finding things to do indoors. I hope things warm up for you (and me) soon!

    Hugs,
    Lin

  13. Very lovely photos! I don't have a great camera but I WOULD like to take better pictures! Something I need to work on...or "play with" as you say.

  14. I think your pictures turned out great. I hope to one day have a nice DSLR camera to play with. Right now I just have a point and shoot. I've heard there are a lot of things to learn with a fancy camera though. I bet it takes a while to get the hang of it.

  15. Your photos are very vintage looking and look like they were from an old photo album. You just enjoy the journey and just shoot at everything and pretty soon you will master the fine art! I still find that I get frustrated with mine and I return to the Auto setting.
But then I go back to trying to get a good shot with my other settings.
    Blessings, and much Love, Roxy

  17. I missed this post Debbie, so I had to check it out. I think you know more about your camera than I do. I just know how to aim and shot...but I could do that with a brownie camera . LOL. I am missing so many features of my camera. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
