New camera, and some photos!

Good Saturday morning!
My new camera arrived, and I've been having some fun taking pictures around the Lakehouse.
It will take some time to figure out all the features on this contraption, since it's a little more involved than my tiny point and shoot I've been using.
The clarity amazes me!

I love how the roses look almost 3-D!

There is so much to learn.
I would love to take a class.

This is a Santa my dear friend, JoAnne, did for me a few years ago.
JoAnne passed away. She battled breast cancer for as long as she was able.
JoAnne was a fine wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a loyal friend. One of those caring woman that come along as a true gift. They grace your path, and are a light in your life. Someone you will hold in your heart until your last breath.
A kindred spirit.

A favorite piece.

This little guy sits in with all the iron stone pitchers.

I fancy vintage angels.
It wouldn't be Christmas without them hanging here in our home....heralding the Good News!
I won't post anymore pictures today. I've been walking around with the camera all morning!! What fun I've been having!
Have a great weekend!

  1. Debbie, you didn't mention what your new camera is, but it does take very clear photos. The painting your late friend made for you is lovely and a nice treasure to remember her by.
    Merry Christmas.

  3. Debbie, I still do not have the hang of the camera I got last year fro Christmas....I to load them on this computer is beyond me. If they are loading I have no idea where they are...as I stopped even trying about 2 months ago. I need my kids to help me...but you know how that goes at times...no time. I refuse to take my computer back to the people in town who charged 237 and made it where I can't do anything on this computer. It's slow, I have to click 3-4 times to open some sites. It's needs an over night at the geek shop. LOL. Hope you enjoy your new camera and learn all the techy things. You are so right, they are not the same as a point and shoot. Blessings for a fun week . xoxo,Susie

  8. Oh Debbie, how wonderful to meet you! Thank you for coming to my blog and leaving a comment, and your home is SWEET! We live in Minneapolis where there are many lakes and gorgeous cottages and mansions. I would imagine that living very close to the water is exhilarating! Your cottage seems just up my alley. We went out yesterday to window shop, and all the sparkles we saw look just like your home.

ENJOY the light of the season and what a lovely home you have! Anita

  10. Hi Debbie,
Love all your new photos with your new camera. Love the gift from your dear friend. Sorry she lost her fight with cancer but glad you had her in your life. Now you have a sweet remembrance of her to put out each Christmas. Love your little girl with her crown of white berries. She is adorable. Happy Sunday.

  13. Hi Debbie,
You new baby is well loved by you and of course us here in blog land who get to share in the true beauty of what your eye sees. I can tell you this much if it's a canon you can google you tubes on the makings of your camera, and what videos on how it works and what you can achieve out of the settings. I have my canon t3i set at a higher megapixel to brighten my darker foto's about 1600. That's about average. And this video will help you get to know your camera inside and out, if it's another brand they have the same for there use as well. I bought the t3i after the t2i I live the t3 for the fabulous video it takes and Hannah my daughter needed to shoot a lot of French class video work.

I am due for an up grade camera now have my eye on a new love!
Enjoy your new camera, it's going to be your new Lover ! :))

Your foto's look amazing, I adore the ironstone Santa.

  15. Hello... How exciting to have a new camera! You will just love it! I have found so many tips on Pinterest I have a board of just Photography stuff. I did take a picture of my Gravy Bowl this Thanksgiving... It was my very first time using one.
It was so sweet to read about your kind words about your dear friend!
Life is so precious! You are a very true friend to her even Now...
I think the vintage angels are so pretty, years ago we made some from a salt daough and then we placed them in wax! They were tea stained and looked so pretty!
I would love to take a canera class with you! Or just a trip to click till the cows come home ;o)
Merry Christmas and Blessings to you and yours!
    Love, Roxy xo

I see them and want them, and then i think i would be dead before i figured out how to use one! I love your angels, and especially love your little girl statue with the twiggy halo. I've missed so many posts... will try to do a little catching up now...
