Unpacking some boxes.

The sun is shining here at the old Lakehouse! After days of clouds, and rain, it's nice to see some blue skies.
I was cleaning out a closet the other day, and found something that I had packed away when we put our house on the market.
We didn't sell, however, and I am finding things that have been in boxes for almost three years now.
This picture frame belonged to my Grandma.
She kept a picture of my Dad dressed in his army uniform in it.
My granddaughter, Maddie, was born on my Dad's birthday. I thought it would be a nice gesture to put her picture in the frame.

Another box held vintage Christmas ornaments.
I was also happy to find the birds that used to grace the holiday trees in previous years.

The mercury glass garland beads were in another box.
I have the day off....so I think I will check out more boxes in another closet.
Who knows what I might find?
Happy Hump Day.....

  1. It's always nice to find little treasures we have packed away. I hit some sales after last Christmas and was so surprised to find the bags and the Christmas ornaments I bought!! That little frame is so pretty and I love the little collection of bird houses!

    Enjoy your day off and the sunshine {while it lasts!}

  2. Isn't it fun to find things that you haven't seen in a couple of years? I am also finding things in my storage unit I haven't seen in 3-4 years.
    Enjoy your day off

  3. Oh, I have things boxed up in every closet. What wonderful things you found in yours! Hope you are having a fun day there. We finally got some blue skies here, mixed with puffy clouds, but the sun comes out, it gets cloudy, it peeks again and gets covered up once more.
I am so ready for full fledged sunshine, but soaking up what I can when I can!

  4. What beautiful treasures to find. I love it when that happens, not only is it finding something "new" but a trip down memory lane. :) Enjoy your day sweetie and I hope you are doing well and enjoying the holiday season.

  5. Love the treasures you found stored away. Isn't it fun to dig all those old things out? I love that little bird and the frame. What did you end up doing with your Dad's picture or was that already out of there?

I hope I can get my little feather tree decorated and photographed. It was in my hubby's grandmother's attic and had most of the little old ornaments with it. It is just darling and there are several partial strands of mercury beads, too.

I hope you had a wonderful day. Our internet was out all day long-xo Diana
