A lovely afternoon.

What a beautiful afternoon!
I've been outside painting the mailbox, and front door.
Before coming inside for a break, I decided to cut some peonies.

My favorite are the pink for the color...but for fragrance, I love the white ones!
They fill a room with their scent!

I love putting them next to my bed.

I have more painting to do, and some weeding to get caught up on.
Break time is over for me.
I hope you are enjoying your afternoon!
Debbie

  1. Debbie, What a beautiful table. I love peonies...I truly should try to grow some. June showed some on her blog this week. I cut myself a bouquet of tiger lilies today. My marigolds are growing down by the mailbox. My husband took me for a small ice cream for my afternoon break. I know, shame on me...trying to lose weight and eating ice cream. LOL.. Blessings to you my good friend, love you Debbie girl, Susie

  2. Hi Debbie
Your afternoon sounds so nice. I love days like that, puttering and getting things done. Your peonies are so pretty. I only have the pink. I will be on the lookout now for white. Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day

  3. Debbie,
Oh how your afternoon sounds divine, accomplishments and indulging it beauty. Your table looks beautiful and in our area Peonies peak in May so to see your pretty bounty made me happy today. White on a nightstand what a delightful treat.
I'm going to post later, come for a meal and a little reveal.
    Sending love,

  4. Dear Debbie, I also love Peonies and I just wish they grew in our part of the country! I did get some pictures while in Michigan last year! Your photos make me feel like I am right there with you in your home! I would love to paint my front door...
This is the greenest summer I can ever remember here, I would like to live by a lake in the summer myself, You have such great taste!

  5. Your peonies are just beautiful, Debbie! I have a pink bush that I brought from my old home 15 years ago. They don't like to be moved, ever, but I do manage to get a handful of blooms from it each year. Love the scent! Sounds like the perfect day for painting, can't believe the rain finally ended.

  8. Hi Debbie, your peonies are gorgeous. I can't grow them here. Maybe it's just too hot. Growing up in Michigan, my mother had several bushes and they were always gorgeous. I love the pinks. Sounds like the perfect day. Enjoy your painting and gardening.
    Blessings my friend, CM

  9. Oh such beauty graced your table! I adore peonies, and apparently my sweet dog Roger loved them too, because he picked them for me, but... left them lying on the ground - stinker! I put them in a fresh bowl of water, and they have lasted for several weeks like that. Your table looked so lovely graved with those beautifies... hoping that your weather has warmed up, and that summer has arrived for you! :)

  10. I have said the same thing all along Debbie - the white peonies are my most fragrant!
Good luck with your painting, if breaks include a bit of wine with bread and butter I'd be happy to join you. I usually have tea and sweets but I'm open to change. :-)

  12. My peonies at home always bloom when we're at the lake so I always miss seeing them. Love your shot of the table. Your photo's could be in a magazine.

I've been trying to paint our deck at the lake but it's done nothing but rain practically all week. Have a nice weekend. xo
