Summer here at the lake has been enjoyable, with hot, humid weather, and sunny skies.
We experience a few cooler days with rain...but the flowers appreciate that, as do the people needing a bit of a break from the heat.
Evenings are spent sitting in the swing under the candle lanterns gifted to me by one of my daughters as a Mother's Day present.
It's always a treat watching the boats glide by as the sun goes down.
Hubby usually starts a campfire, and the frogs start their familiar songs.
You catch the faint scent of flowers as the breeze carries their fragrance along it's current.
I trust you are enjoying your summer, as well.
I am joining Kerryanne at Shabby Art Boutique for the Shabbilicious Friday Link Party this week.

ReplyDeleteAw it looks so cosy ! I love sitting out till the sun goes down but the weather for us has been a bit rainy and wintery for the last few weeks. ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous, enjoy it for all of us ok? Your pergola with swing and all must seem like heaven to you and your family. Mirror is cute accent. Don't be too quick to ever move away or you might be like me, pining away for what you had.
ReplyDeleteFew years ago we lived on 20 acres out in country in MT on Canyon Ferry Lake, so peaceful, loved it and still miss it, was our heaven on earth.
When we took delivery of our new dble wide we had them turn house so front was facing lake and mountains. We were out on prairie with lots of space around us as we all had 20 acres, were about 2+ miles from marina. Everywhere we looked was sky, mountains and lake.
We had moved to MT from inland San Diego condo area. At time we moved there were only 4 others homes out there, our mail box was 1 1/2 miles out on highway. Could hear car coming for miles before we could see it. In summer stayed light til almost 11 at night, ah, was so incredible. Antelope came up to our front yard, had one Momma antelope would bring her babies to show, I'd stand far enuf away so she wouldn't get nervous to talk to her, what a privilege. Felt like in another world from CA.
Only telling you so you'll know how I really understand what it's like to live in heaven on earth. Things happened so we moved to western KY close to oldest son and family, lived there 5yrs. after 7 yrs. in MT.
We had great place about 30 miles north of Bowling Green but climate wasn't good for me so then moved here to western CO about 18 miles west of Grand Junction. It's great, health much better but miss MT and even our place in KY. Our two youngest kids live fairly close here.
Enjoy your lake and your wonderful home. You're living in heaven on earth. Happy weekend
Thank you for your wonderful post here! I so enjoyed reading about your life, and all of your moves. You sound like you made the best of your situations, and enjoyed each location you ended up in. I envy you, with the opportunities to see so much of the country like you have. Enjoy your weekend, and please visit again.

You have the perfect spot for a summer evening. Your candle lights are lovely. I watch the sunset from the front porch. Always reminds me to be thankful for the blessings of the day.
ReplyDeleteSummer is slipping by too quickly this year. We've had so much rain at the lake that we've only been able to have 1 campfire. Enjoy your weekend sweetie!
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie I bet the sounds, smells and relaxing times at the lake right now are fabulous. Enjoy enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeletePretty jar candle lanterns overhead -so romantic an evening watching fireflies nestled under that sweet rose quilted throw... Gently rocking in a swing, all beautiful my friend. I love to see a mirror hung outside and your oval is gorgeous. Enjoy your lazy, hazy Summertime days.

It all sounds heavenly, Debbie! Even the humidity. I live to be outdoors. Love your pretty swing and lanterns! ;-D
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the most lovely way to spend a warm summer evening! Your bench is gorgeous and, even moreso, with the beautiful candles hanging above:) Do you use real tealights or the little battery ones? How nice to have a campfire, we had one at my brother's house and the kids made Smores...it was so nice!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these long, warm nights in your beautiful cottage my friend!
It looks amazing Debbie and I love the hanging candles too!

The scene you describe is lovely. I, too, love the lake. However, we are not getting any rain and I think we are much hotter than you. Certainly enjoyed sitting with you here, though.
ReplyDeleteWauw what a lovely garden
