The weather outside is frightful

Good Saturday morning to everyone in Blogville.
It's snowy, blowy, and cold here at the lakehouse.
I really don't mind gets me in the mood for Christmas music, and decorating.
This year  I'll be using some mercury glass pieces to decorate with. I also love the metallic aqua color I've been seeing in the shops, and on some of the other blogs. Donna, at My Shabby Chateau, shared her glittered shells recently, and those will definitely be seen here at the lakehouse!

Target has some pretty faux mercury glass pieces. Theses candle sticks were on sale last week, so I just had to put them in my cart.
Since hubby is still working on Man's Town, decorating will be slow around here. He has "stuff" everywhere! Hopefully he will finish up soon, and I will be able to go through and transform the lakehouse into a Christmas wonderland.

Enjoy your Saturday.
Put on your happy feet, and get something done that will get you in the Christmas spirit!
Hugs to all!

  1. Snow really puts you in the holiday spirit. Its about 80 degrees here so doesn't feel like the holidays...but I guess I am used to it. Can't wait to see the lakehouse all dressed up for christmas.

  2. Morning Debbie- I have always loved the old mercury glass too. I picked up some balls at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2.50 each. They had 6 and I took them all. I am such a ball hog! Maybe I would have been a good football player?

No snow for us here yet...but I can feel it in the air..just a flake here and there. We are usually foot deep by now. The kids are off to get their Christmas tree today and MamasBoy & wife are moving into their new home as I type. It is truly a cottage and I hope they will let me take a few pictures.

I got my dining room floor 2nd coated with the wood conditioner/finish this morning so I can start to put my house back in order. I know what you mean about the "man jobs"...ours never end here. I hope to start draging out some Christmas when I get home from getting my hair cut. New salon chick-wish me luck!

Have a wonderful Saturday off-I think you are off for a couple more days? ME TOO! Can't believe it! Hugs-Diana

  3. Very Pretty Debbie! Sounds nice and cozy at your furnace is on the fritz, so despite your snow, I wish I was with you!!

  4. Is that snow headed our way? I know I shouldn't be anxious but everyone seems to be getting the white stuff except us!

I love mercury glass, too. I haven't been to Target lately but I have been seeing a lot of pretty ornaments form there in Blogland. The temptation to buy more than I need is so great in these kind of stores. I can't even go into Michael's!!

I am loving your Christmas music on your playlist. Yesterday I left it on all afternoon while I wrapped presents!!

Have a great weekend, sweet friend!

  5. I just bought a few pieces of mercury glass, and I love them. the weather. I hope we get a tad a snow ONCE this year.

  6. I love mercury glass, too Debbie! Thanks so much for giving a nod to me and my glitter! It's cold here, too, but so far no snow. I'm just not ready for that, though I know it will make it seem more festive when we do get some. Take care and keep warm!!

  7. I am jealous! I want snow on the ground! We have had flurries here in Ohio, but that is about it! I just love Mercury Glass!

  8. I love mercury glass... I am going to have to check out Target this year too...we have snow right now too. :)

  9. I don't know why-but of all places I'd like to be for the holidays-I think it would be at your place-it seems peaceful with the right amount of fun and cheer-can't wait to see how the decorations turn out!

  10. Hi Debbie... All of that snow looks so beautiful! We've been having some rain storms here in central Cali, and it's getting me in the Christmas spirit, too. :)
I love your mercury glass pieces! I don't have any, but every Christmas I think how I would love to get some... maybe this year...
Can't wait to see your lakehouse all decorated for the holiday!
    Have a wonderful day!
    Hugs ~ Jo :)
