Early morning row.

Wooohoooo!
It's a beautiful morning here at the lakehouse.
I headed out on the main canal for my row in the kayak.

I love to be out on the water early in the morning.
It's quiet, except for the birds singing.

When the water is calm, the paddle makes a soft sound as it cuts through the water.
As the kayak slides through, you can hear the trickle of the water behind you as the little waves collide.
I've cut my time down from 30 minutes to 25. I'll have to add some distance to keep my workout challenging.
Getting back to the lakehouse is the part I like the most. I can slow down and just float..enjoying the sights and sounds here on the water.
Ain't nothin' better.
Enjoy your Saturday!

Debbie

  2. Perfect way to start the day... I used to love taking the boat out with the trolling motor- it was so quiet and I love the tree lined path you have.
How deep is your canal? Can you swim in it? Some of our lakes here are mud bottoms and dirty, not to mention full of run off from all the fields. The chemicals in them are not very good to be around.
    I miss Ohio lakes.
Have a great weekend, girl and dip your toes for me...
It's not even 10am and it's 87 already- did our yard work quickly this morning and we are inside the ac! It's so humid, too. May have to grab a bucket and dip my toes, or my head, in it! LOL

  4. Debbie-What a beautiful, beautiful way to start your weekend morning. I am like you-I love the early morning quiet and softness. I haven't rowed in years...and because I have some inflammatory issues I would not want to try it anymore-but I envy you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend..I am expecting some "visitors" that call me Nana a bit later in the day so I am bracing myself for the onslaught! Love to you my dear MI friend- xoDiana

  6. Hi Debbie, thanks for the visit. I must tell you that is not my yard...it's my brother's. It's in New Braunfels, TX. We really love to spend time there.
When I clicked over to return the comment, I noticed for the first time where your lakehouse is located. You are in a beatiful part of the country too. I lived in Kalkaska for a little over 6 years in the 70's. Summertime is so wonderful in upper Michigan and wintertime is beautiful, but too cold for this Texas girl!

It looks so peaceful in your canal. You know, we just bought kayaks and I have yet to take a ride. You make me want to hop in one right now! Enjoy your day...I hope it is a beautiful on your side of Michigan as it is on mine! :-)
