Found some pretties....

I had a wonderful day today.
I finally had enough money saved to pick up the rose dishes I found at the little "cottage shop" at the other side of the lake.
I got side-tracked on my way, however.

There is this sweet little garden shop that has lovely statuary pieces, and gorgeous roses.
I have always loved this darling little girl....and since she was only $30.00 , how could I leave her just standing there in the heat???

There was no tag on this Chicago Peace Rose. All the rest of the roses were marked $23.99, and I thought this one would be the same price. When I brought it to the counter, and the clerk couldn't find a tag, she asked how $14.99 sounded.  I blinked my eyes, and smiled, and said, "oh just fine".
So...I left the garden shop, and headed to pick up my dishes.

Before I even entered the store I saw these beautiful vintage iron pieces sitting on a table outside!!!!
They look as if someone sawed them off from an iron gate, or old trellis?
I don't know what I will do with them yet...but I think they are soooo pretty!
For just $10.00 a piece, I think I got a great deal!!

These are the dishes I went to pick up.
It's a service for six.
I love the little pink roses

I purchased some extra pieces, because Mr. L doesn't do well with pretty dishes, and I use my pretty dishes a lot.
(I'm sure if I see this pattern, I'll be sure to pick pieces up at other shops, or markets).
That was my day....I had fun, and got some good deals!
I'm very happy with the things I found, and so glad I was finally able to bring home the vintage dishes.
Hope you have a fun weekend everyone!!!

  2. You did good! I love the dishes. I LOVE those iron pieces. I found one small chunk of something similar but not nearly as beautiful. I was going to paint mine white (using water based paint) and hope that if I left it out in the rain that it will bring out some rustiness! I think yours are well worth the price. Pretty rose and little girl statue too! Glad you had a fun day!

  6. Debbie!!! I think those dishes are the same one that my daughter has...they were gifted to her by an older lady that befriended her. I will see if I can get a picture of them to see if they ARE the same.

Looks like you got some good deals all the way around. Those little iron things are amazing. Your rose and little girl are both beautiful. What a fun day for you- xo Diana
