Aahhhh....that time in the morning when you are in between slumber, and waking....
Your mind is still swimming with the cloudiness of sleep, yet you faintly hear the outside world creeping in.
That's where I was this morning when I realized I heard the sweet sounds of song birds in the distant realm of reality.
I drew in a deep breath, causing my mind to clear.
Rolling over in bed, I opened the window...letting in the sound of the birds more clearly.
My heart filled with the joy that Creation brings.
The earth, and it's creatures are waking from their winter's slumber!
God always knows what I need, when I need it.
This taste of springtime encouragement is the boost I've been needing after the harsh winter we've been experiencing.
I know that the winds of winter will blow, and more snow will fall, but I am also assured that beauty slumbers beneath the snow. When the time is right...spring will come calling....waking the earth from it's deep sleep, and all of God's creation will awake with the sounds of the song birds.Have a wonderful Sunday!
Debbie

It has been a long harsh winter, Debbie, for all of us "lake loving gals". I can't wait until it gets nice once again....I am really tired of snow and cold-as I know you are, too.
ReplyDeleteNo spring birds here yet! xo Diana
How wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds singing! I've not heard any yet, but did see a robin for the first time a couple of days ago. The sun is out here today and melting some snow away, but it has a long way to go before we see bare grass. Hope you have a restful and relaxing Sunday !
ReplyDeleteDEbbie, Such a pretty post. I am glad you woke up to birds singing. That is a joy. We had nice temps today and sunshine. I am loving it. Ready to dig into the dirt and plant things. Blessings to you on This beautiful day. Love you, Susie
ReplyDeleteWe hit 44 yesterday, with sunshine and lots of birds chirping. Spring isn't far behind. xo
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love hearing the birds sing, Debbie? I actually saw a robin the past several days at our heated bird bath, and got so excited! By the end of March, we start hearing the "peepers", the tree frogs that are in the swampy area of the woods here. They really make quite a bit of noise, but I am always so happy to hear them again after such a long winter!!
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie, this is a beautiful poetic post with beautiful photography to remind our hearts through our eyes and ears that after a harsh winter there is beauty and song birds. I thought today through half opened eyes I witnessed our Robin Red Breast returning, I hope and pray,it was, for it is in the simple things we take for granted beauty that fills our spirit with hope and promise in the first signs of Spring.

Lovely post Debbie. I have been hearing the birds singing too. So great to hear that and know Spring is around the corner. We might hit a couple of high 50 degree days this week. So excited to feel that warmth coming to us. Have a great start to the new week.

There is not too much as sweet as the sound of birds singing in the morning stillness! So glad that you are beginning to experience the newness of spring and the hope of warmer days! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written, Deb, and the pictures are simply lovely. You've captured my thoughts and with this warmer weather, we've been having...that sweet fragrance in blowing in our windows makes me feel renewed as well.

It is so sweet to hear birds singing again! The robins just returned to my part of Iowa a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, it has been a winter for the record books. Hearing the birds give us hope that a new season is near by. I heard a bird singing over the weekend (we call it the thank you bird) it's call of thank you which tells me spring is coming.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post my friend.
Have a nice evening and think spring!!
Hugs, CM
Spring is in the air in Italy too. I love your shabby pictures, items and vignettes. The birdcage is fabulous.

What a lovely and poetic post! I needed it this morning! As I can feel that Spring is in the air! Hubby and I listened to a beautiful bird singing for us yesterday as we were leaving for the day! It just both made us feel like we had a spring in our step!
