Spider Legs and Eye of Newt.

If I wasn't ready for Fall before, I am now!
We woke up to our cars covered with snow yesterday morning.

I finally caved, and broke into the totes filled with the Fall decorations yesterday afternoon.
I was using dried flowers for my decorating....but with Halloween fast approaching, I decided it was time to bring out the few things I have that really say "Fall".

I don't do the traditional browns and oranges much here at the Lakehouse, except for two particular spots. Over the television, and over the kitchen sink. I even use mini-multi-colored lights....yellow, green, and orange that come in the softer hues in clusters of three on the string.

Maybe it's the kid in me that still likes the glow at night..... with the pumpkins, scarecrows, witch hats, black cats, bittersweet, and gourds.
The rest of the house is burlap sunflowers, dried flowers, and an occasional bottle of witches brew.
And don't forget the candles......LOTS of candles!!!!

  1. Your mantle is beautiful and the little touch of Halloween fits in just right. I love candles this time of year when we need a cozy glow. Some said we had ice pellets hit the ground here and even a few snow flakes yesterday, but I didn't see them.

  2. Beautiful. All of it... Wow snow. Two days ago here it will still over 100. We had rain yesterday, so hopefully cooler temps are on their way here. xoxo Su

  3. Hi Debbie,
Isn't it early for your first snow? We woke to 42 degrees today. Love your mantel and all your dried flowers. Those bottles are lots of fun. Your color hues on the mantel whisper the beauty of Fall.
Enjoy being cozy by the fire.

  5. Hi Debbie,
I wish I could decorate a mantel the way you do. Everything looks so lovely. The apothecary bottles add a nice Holloweenie touch.

  6. Wow, did you really get snow already? It still seems so early in the year for that! My Canadian sister said they were expecting snow this weekend also...early winter I guess.

I love your bottles, those are so pretty yet very Halloweeny at the same time:) The colors of your dried flowers is amazing! And yes, lots of candles is always a must. I imagine it's getting close to hot cocoa time up there and we're still blasting the a/c here...makes me a bit sad that we don't get seasons but, like you have said, we always complain about the weather no matter where we live!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog my dear friend:) Hope you had a most wonderful weekend! Hugs:)

  7. I came over from Susie's to meet you and I just love your beautiful blog! You have REAL autumn colors in your neck of the woods.....or the lake. Here in Texas we just go from green to dull green to brown.
I enjoyed my visit and will be back!

  9. Hi Debbie! I'm trying to get caught up with blog. Was hospitalized last week and my son has been as well, comes home tomorrow! Still love your gentle fall with the soft floral and sweet neutrals. Although spiders and newts have made their appearance, I choose to see the calming instead! Have a great week! Blessings, Cindy xoxo

  12. Hello, You better decorate for fall as it seems winter is coming way to soon! Now where did summer go? I have been doing some reading and getting ready for colder weather. The guys have been cutting and splitting wood. Hunting next week for them so, we pray for elk to come down off the top of the mountains and only big snows will do that!
    Thinking of you!! Hugs, Roxy
