Just enjoying the day.

Good afternoon.
It's a beautiful Autumn day here at the lakehouse.
I keep going to the windows and looking at the canal.
The water is sparkling with little diamond reflections of the sun.
I will miss the water once it freezes over.
Although we get to see deer, fox, and coyotes walk on the frozen canal during the cold winter months.

The Halloween decorations are all packed away, and I'm bringing out some Thanksgiving pieces....ever so slowly.
It's been one of those lazy days.
The kind where you do a little laundry, sweep the floors, and sip on apple cider.

Do you ever take a whole day and stay in your pj's?
THAT'S the kind of day I'm having.
The kind where you feel all warm and secure in your surroundings.
Finding joy in the little things.
Experiencing the presence of God in every room.
Loving where you are....feeling blessed to be in just the right place.
I hope that you are enjoying your "space" today. Being comfortable in your own skin. Feeling content.
Embrace it!!  Sit back, close your eyes, take in a few deep breaths.....and just be.

  1. You know that is exactly how I feel. My sweetie and I were just saying that we don't need anywhere to go or anything to do...we're just enjoying being where God has put us, waiting to see what He's going to do next. This is the perfect place to be!

  2. Debbie,
That sounds so relaxing! I'm in my pj's but, I have to clean today. Maybe, tomorrow. I love all your photos. Is that an old stove I see? Do you use it? Thanks for stopping by..
    Have a great weekend :)
    xxx Liz

  3. Wonderful reminder for all of us, Debbie! I love days like that-except I don't stay in PJs because they frown on it when I go through Starbucks for my morning fix!;>)

I hope you have a great day tomorrow, too. Wish you had several days off to enjoy yourself! xo Diana

  4. Sounds like a wonderful day to me. :) Your pictures are lovely, Debbie! That lake is a beautiful sight!

  5. I love days like this, Debbie! Your canal looks magical and I love the blue jars. We are at the lake and I like it here because I can wear my PJ's all day...very few neighbors and people popping in!! ;-D All the work is done here except some sweeping where leaves have been tracked in. Sometimes I just don't know what to do with my spare time. It saddens me when I know so many are grappling for time. Do you ever feel that way?

Well, have a nice evening, sweet friend!

  6. Hi Debbie,
What a sweet post! I sometimes need a reminder to do just that. We all need those days when we can just be and slow down and enjoy our surroundings.

I think I just might be doing that tomorrow.

  7. I am afraid I had my pjs on a bit longer then Ann! Then I had to get ready for my son's concert. It was wonderful.
I love your metal baskets for your blue jars. I need to find one for myself to corral the ones I have.

  8. Yes, I love those kind of days...and often do them. Except I'm always afraid some neighbor will drop by and knock on the door and catch me in pj and bed's a risk I'm willing to take, though :)

  9. Your pictures are so pretty. I love to stay in my pjs all day. I should do that more often.Have a great sunday.

  10. I completely understand where you are coming from. Thanks for the wonderful post. Have a great weekend. Hugs Mary
