Good news, and bad news.

Hello everyone.
I've  been away for a while.
Was in the hospital for a bit.
The news was both good and bad.
I am determined to enjoy this holiday season...no matter what!
Last week I woke up to some awful bleeding. Sixteen years ago I went into menopause..so the sudden loss of blood was a bit frightening.  Hubby was away, so I had to call 911. An ambulance took me to the hospital. An external, and internal ultra-sound was done, and an abnormality was discovered.
The good news....the ovaries are not involved. To slow down the bleeding, a D and C was done, and a biopsy was taken. Bad news...my heart was beating erratically during surgery, so they had to insert a tube to help me breath. A 20 minute procedure ended up taking over two hours. My poor hubby and three daughters were VERY  upset.
I won't get the biopsy results for almost two weeks!! The holiday will hold things up. The good news...whatever the results...I'll deal with it then, NOT until the reports come back!
I have a CT scan scheduled on my heart. The cardiologist is worried about blockage, and hardening of the arteries. I'm on Lipitor for high cholesterol now. Also, I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I prick my finger twice a day for now, and take meds twice a day. I can deal with that...AND the diet I am now on.
If the "abnormality" needs to be removed, a complete hysterectomy will be done, along with radiation if there is evidence of any surrounding tissue being involved.
The good news..if I hadn't bled so much, none of this would have been discovered...so I'm grateful for that.
The bad news..if this turns out to be the "C" word..my daughters won't do so well. They've already lost their Papa to cancer.
I will do whatever it takes to help them get through this.
So, that's where things are. I'm feeling okay, just very tired.
I'll be off from work at the pharmacy for a while. That's a good thing!!!
I plan to wrap gifts this afternoon, and just take it easy..cause I'm still bleeding, but not near as much.
Please keep my family in your prayers.
Love and hugs to you all.
Debbie

  10. Oh Debbie- what a fun time you have been having! Don't sweat it until it happens.
When my grandma was about your age she had the same bleeding and a huge tumor. She had an 8 lb fybroid tumor- which isn't cancer. She had her hysterectomy and was just fine after.
When I was 29, I started my period in October. They finally got it stopped in April and had mine in May. I was doing 6 pads an hour through all of this.
Hemoraging(?) is 12 an hour, so if you are doing under that- they won't do much about it.
I am glad they found the heart problems and diabetis. You're right- you would have never known until something really bad would have happened with one of those.
They can do so much now with heart surgeries and so many are out patient, like it's not a big deal anymore.
Manage your diabetis well- learn everything you can and stay with the diet and exercise so you stay on the pills and don't have to switch up to daily shots.
Tha main key is doing everything at the same time every day and keeping level as much as possible.
My dad got pretty good with his and my friend acquired it a few years ago. She is doing very well.
You will so be in my prayers for a complete healing, peace of mind and a wonderful Christmas with your family. If you need anything- you know where I am...just a blog away.
    Hugs- Tete

  16. Sorry to hear about what you've been going through. Going to keep you in my prayers and am praying for healing and good news that it is not the C word. About 10 years ago, I had bleeding that wouldn't stop...so I know how frightening it is to have the sudden loss of blood. I ended up having to have a total hysterectomy.
    Sending hugs your way.
Have a Merry Christmas with your family.

  20. Oh Debbie- I am sooo sorry to hear this. The worst part, I am sure, was being alone when it happened. And, I think, being in the medical field makes it even worse because of the knowledge that is there. I am saying a prayer for you that the abnormality is just that-an abnormality and not the big C. We dealt with MrK having it a year ago..and although it was contained it was still scary. My kids did okay with it because I didn't let them see that I was scared.

I'm glad you have some time off but what a heckuva way to get it....and it is awful to be going through this this time of year. There are some rather simple procedures they do now if you have some plaque build up in the arteries. The good news is that they will be able to be proactive on that.

God bless you, Debbie, and just know that you are in my prayers and that you are well loved here in Blog land. If you want a smile you can pop into my blog tomorrow if you get a chance and read about SweetCheeks monkey hunt!

Love to you, dear heart~ Wish I lived closer-I'd bring you some soup! Diana

Some blessings are disguised for sure...it is good to know what you are facing and I'm sure you'll rest easier when the tests are back. I do hope your Christmas is a special one. Lots of Love and Hugs!

I'm not in menopause but I did have a heavy bleeding episode a couple of years ago, it turned out to be fibroids but definitely scares you! I hope yours is not the big C!

  37. Heavenly Father, I stand with this precious covenant daughter of yours to receive her inheritance that Jesus bought & paid for on the cross of Calvary. I break off this cancer from her body & command it to leave in the Name above all Names - the Lord Jesus Christ. I release the Zoe life of the Living God to invade every cell of her body & I command all the functions of her body to line up to the word of His power. Father, I bless her with health in her body, peace in her mind, & joy in her emotions. I break off the fear and declare over Debbie - The Joy of the Lord is her Strength! I ask Father for Heaven to invade earth in her family, & everything that concerns her. I declare over her Thy Kingdom come-Thy will be done in her life on earth as it is in Heaven!
