Lily of the Valley, worth the wait.

Living in Northern lower Michigan means waiting for flowers to bloom...and waiting...and waiting.
I must admit, it's worth the wait.
The Lily of the Valley finally bloomed this week.
Breathing in the wonderful fragrance upon rising in the morning, and seeing the beauty of each little flower has to be one of the best ways to wake up each day.

It puts you in a state of thankfulness even before your feet hit the floor.

How can you help but smile as your senses fill with God's tiniest wonders of Glory.

I might have to wait longer for the blooms of spring here at the Lakehouse....but it's so worth the wait.

  1. Miss D...Lily of the Valley was my Grandma Elliott's favorite flower. She loved them and most all her hats when she was older included a silk spray with that flower.

Beautiful! Hope you are doing well. Thinking of you!

  4. Well worth the wait indeed. So glad you are waking up to them and smiling before your feet hit the floor. The ones I have, 2 small clumps, are Steve's mom's. She passed at 52 from ovarian cancer and we have spent our whole married life without her, but when his dad sold his home, we took a shovel's worth of them. They were planted in front amist the shrubs. Year after year we have walked that path to their door with those being the first to greet us and I am so glad that we have them here. I can't help but smile when I see them.

  5. Debbie, Your bedroom looks so pretty with all the pillows. I love flowers and just today bought some petunias...I'll be putting them out this weekend. Also, I have a new clematis and just need to think where I want it. Enjoy your weekend. xoxo, Susie

  7. Your post just reminded me that mine are in full bloom now too! I literally just got up, went outside and snipped some for a mini-vase. So I too am now enjoying that amazing fragrance-thanks:@)

  12. Beautiful ~ I love the lily of the valley, last week when I was out at my friends, it was just starting to unbud, still no real fragrance, I hope this week it will still be fresh & Smelly... The Lilacs came & went so quickly this year, with all the mild weather we had, I never got to even sniff that wonderful aroma~ darn with that unseasonable hot weather.... I use to look forward to it just after Mother's Day!
    Have a Wonderful week
