Sunshine, and flowers.

The sun is shining here at the Lakehouse!
Yes!
There is finally open water on the lake.

On my way to a doctor's appointment this morning, I saw dozens of Robins hopping around all over the place...a sure sign of Spring here at the lake!

I actually saw some plants starting to poke their sweet little heads up through the dirt, greeting the sunshine with their fresh green leaves.

It won't be long, and I'll be bringing fresh cut roses in from my gardens to fill pitchers, and vases...filling this old lakehouse with the fragrance that warms my heart, and soul.

I will also be harvesting flowers to hang from the beams to dry for wreaths, and arrangements for this old lakehouse.
Giving it a feeling of warmth, and beauty through the holidays, and those long winter months when the snow covers the flowers that I love so much during the warm weather, and sunshine.
I hope the sun is shining where you are today.
If not...go buy some flowers for yourself. Make a tussy-mussy, and hang it on a door knob. When you walk past the door, I'm sure it will put a smile on your face. You deserve it.

  1. So glad you are getting some spring there! We have thunderstorms today and its not even 50 out there yet, but supposed to get back to 60. Then tomorrow back in the 70s. We have bloomers happening here and the grass has been mowed, so your warmer weather is coming right behind us. Have a fun day in the sun!

    Smooches you you, too, dear!

  5. Love your new header, Debbie! Sooooo sweetly summery! :) Looks like you have the same obsession I have with roses....and drying them. :) It does give a comfy, homey feel to a house, doesn't it? ♥ So glad that you're finally seeing open water and robins up there! My peonies are poking their heads up...finally!

  7. Just catching up on some blog reading Debbie. I could not believe it when I read that you used to grow and sell dried flowers...I did too! I shipped all over the country. Seeing your bundles of flowers hanging from the rafters reminded me of my barn filled with them. We have another thing in common :)

Your sun porch is soooo inviting. I can just imagine myself sitting there, watching the waves ripple and the sun glinting off the lake. Hang in there. The right buyer will come along. I'd love a place like that!

In the meantime, wring every bit of joy out of the place that you can.

    Hugs,
    Deborah
