More chairs!

I know I just did a post on new chairs, but I went back the next day to pick up two more chairs for the snack bar that match the ones I just bought.
Before I show the chairs, I wanted to share this sweet little light fixture that was found at my favorite cottage shop here at the lake.

Isn't it just the cutest thing?
I feel like Charlie Brown's little sister talking about Linus.
It's so "cottage looking".
It makes me smile.

So here are the bar chairs that match the chairs from the previous post.

I LOVE them!
Mr. L even likes them. As a matter of fact, he's the one that encouraged me to go back to the store to buy them....I was VERY surprised, indeed!
He thinks they match the decor of the room better than the old chairs did...imagine that.
He even used the words...more romantic.
I know...right????!!

Since our house is so "open", having the chairs match the ones in the living area helps with the "flow" of things.
There isn't much of a break from one large room to the next.

The kitchen, and dining area are one huge room.
There is a large doorway into the living room, which is also a very large room.
There aren't many things in my house that match...but having the chairs in both rooms match seems to give a feeling of balance in here.
Especially since there is such a large open area.

I like the formal look in the informal setting.
That's what shabby chic is for me...the mixing of rustic, vintage, bling, simplicity, ruffles, and roses.
I guess it may be something else to others...and that's okay.
Who am I to know what style I really have going on here?
I still think I should rename my blog The Cluttered Cottage.
That's the only thing, or style, that I'm sure of....lol.
Thank you for stopping by.
I always appreciate your visits, and when you take the time to leave a comment.
God Bless You!

  1. I love your sweet cluttered cottage, Debbie. :) I love how you mix it up and somehow, it turns out looking absolutely perfect. Those chairs are gorgeous! Does Mr. LH have to be sure his bum is clean before he sits in them....? lol

  2. Bellissimo tutto! Baci,Rosetta

  4. You're right, the light fixture is wonderful, and so are the chairs.
I like the look of your home. I like the blend of "all things you", and the fact that your husband encouraged you to buy the chairs? Well, icing on the cake, is what I'd call it!
Anytime a husband tells his wife to spend money, it's a beautiful day for sure :)

  6. I'm sure Dad was OK with you buying them because those other ones were the most uncomfortable chairs ever!

    1. I have so much fat on my bum, I didn't think the old chairs felt uncomfortable at all. I thought they were nice, and squishy.
      Love you babe.

  8. You are a shabby romantic chic country french kind of girl! Love that Mr even liked the chairs. I think you might be rubbing off on him a bit. Bless your little heart, girl. You are one in a million.

  9. I love it... per usual. I also agree that the uniformity of something as simple as the chairs is the perfect thing to create that subtle flow. Many would walk through and not even know what it is that makes it all fit together... something simple. a chair. :)

  12. Hi Deb,
Your beautiful cottage doesn't look cluttered at all to me. I think it's charming and decorated so lovely. The chairs are perfect. It isn't easy decorating large rooms that flow from one to another, but you've pulled it off. I say that whatever style we decide on should always be one that we love.
