Oh how I love the creamy white flower heads on the hydrangeas when they first bloom.
They are pretty as they turn the gorgeous rose color, too.
There is just something about the purity of the white against the green leaves that seem so dreamy to me.
Even with the heat and humidity, the gardens have been doing quite well this year.
My sweet hubby has been helping out with the watering. We are fortunate to have the lake water to use for our lawn and gardens.
There have been plenty of fresh flowers to cut, and bring inside.
This has been a perfect summer here at the Lakehouse!I am enjoying all the sunshine, and I love the 80 plus degree temperatures. It reminds me of the summers when I was young. Spending time at my grandparents' cottage at the lake. Doing all of the things that I loved. Swimming, fishing, chasing fireflies, campfires, catching frogs, hide and seek, and spending time with my two favorite people in the whole world....my Grandpa and Grandma.
Have a great weekend....where ever you are!

We're at the lake this weekend and loving it - perfect days and nights. xo
ReplyDeleteYou paint lovely memories. I"m jealous of the hydrangeas. Can't grow them where I live as it is too hot. I'm headed to the lake tomorrow where the temp is 100 and my plants are hanging on by a thread. But I'll be floating. Enjoyed visiting you.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that these warmer days have made it perfect by the lake, however away from it, the weather here has been somewhat scorching. You have the perfect place to be in the summer time. We have some pink and blue hydrangeas here but no white ones. I'll be thinking of you as you float around there keeping cool. Have a wonderful weekend !
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers Debbie! I'm so glad you're having a wonderful summer:) Hard to believe we're already in August!!!
ReplyDeleteYour weather sounds perfect... We are in the 100's and dry heat, fires, and flash floodings....
ReplyDeleteDoing my shopping at night and a cooler for keeping things from heating up... It could be worst :)
The best part of enjoying your blooms is the pottery, I have a thing for seeing my home surrounded with white pottery, or any shade of whites, something so inviting is a summer table, lakeside, parkside, garden side, or patio veranda set with all its whiteness.
Enjoy your summer days....I already want to see winter here, :)

I loved this so much... I feel the same way about the memories of my Grandparents being the most special and wonderful people in my life. They made summer seem like a holiday of the greatest fun and wonder! I guess they just allowed us to be children!
ReplyDeleteWhite is so clean and fresh and it will never go out of style!
Have a lovely day and evening!! All summer long!
