The upstairs bathroom in our shabby cottage is very small.
There isn't a lot of room for much in the way of decorating.....
So I work around the shower curtain with pinks, and whites, and roses.
The size of this room is in keeping with the entire upstairs.
Both bedrooms are small in comparison to the downstairs.
They have attic type ceilings.....truly a cottage style home.
We like bead board type walls....for that "cottage" look.
I try to keep the shabby chic decor through out the upstairs with just a little French mixed in.
I have probably shared my tiny bathroom before.
Just in case you missed it....this is another look.
I trust your week is going well. The weather here at Lakehouse has been gorgeous, and the forecast is for more of the same warm temps and sunshine for the next few days!
Enjoy!
Debbie

Debbie your upstairs bath is one to warm the heart in prettiness. From the soaps and items displayed and the chair slipcovered in Ruffles it is a bathroom with beauty to enjoy. OMGosh the way you decorate in your feminine style I would love to see this room in person. Loving, seriously loving the pink Mercury glass.

Hi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteYour cottage bath is so sweet! I love the pink and white, and those polka dots, too! What a great shower curtain. I have always dreamed of an all white bath with white bead board. Hopefully someday (sigh!). This is my first visit to your bath, and I'm glad you shared it with us!!
Beautiful as usual . Love the shower curtain did you make it?

I love your ruffled slipcover! The little roses shower curtain is so pretty also. And of course, the beadboard...I love beadboard. It's one of the million things on my must have list for when we buy something:)
ReplyDeleteTrue cottages are meant to be cozy. Whenever we go to Sanibel, it's not the huge mansions that catch my eye but the sweet little cottage homes:)
It's amazing what you have done there with your tiny space. Proof we don't need a big house to be able to enjoy it. Home is where the heart is and I think your heart is in your home. It's been beautiful here too. Summer is showing off a bit so we won't forget it! Happy first day of fall !
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI found the Romantic Country mag with your house in it :). I see that Sandy Soria (who wrote your story) is now an Editor there. I worked with Sandy for about 10 years at Better Homes & Gardens. She did the writing and I did the styling of our interior design features in the monthly magazine. LOTS OF FUN!
Your bath is such romantic!!! I fell in love with your shabby chic bath. The curtain is gorgeous, the soap very sweet and every details are so adorable.

You know the old saying ( Less is more ) well your petite powder room rings true in your case. It really can be quite fun decorating in a smaller space the simple things we add to them really stand out, I am so surprised you thought to add a chair in there and the chair can double as a surface of vanity when bathing, all your bathing accessories can sit on the chair on perhaps a serving tray and at perfect reach.
ReplyDeleteKind of a chair and a side table at the same time.
I love the pretty tray filled with shabby romance on the sink vanity, again pretty little things to look at when entering your space, the headboard walls is something I have been wanting to do. I too have small bathrooms, one smaller then the other and battle with ever showing it because it just does not have quite my personality, or lighting for that matter. I want to change out the sinks and do some wood on the walls, and a curtain header and then perhaps share.
I think the bathroom is the bravest sharing for a blogger, but in your case with all the cottage charm your lake house shares its just another addition to its shabby romance.
See you soon.
