Secret Garden

Good morning sweet friends of mine~~~it's another one of those peaceful moments here at the lakehouse.
I was just outside surveying all of the weeds that have cropped up, and I noticed the beautiful colored yarrow. What a delicate, lacy flower it is.
My new sign "Secret Garden" goes well with this lovely little flower. The yarrow is tucked between all of the other plants in the garden...quietly standing there...just waiting for me to notice.

I also noticed all the snake grass!!ugh. Since our subdivision was built over a swamp, the natural plants keep showing there faces.

The queen anne's lace is also making an appearance. I really don't mind. Gathered up into a bouquet, they make a beautiful centerpiece. The grandkids love adding food coloring to the water...causing the white flower heads to turn bright colors as they drink up the liquid.
sigh.......It's time to tear myself away from the "secret garden".....the pharmacy is calling....
I hope you find a time in your day to just soak up some of the beauty around you. Enjoy, because summer is slowly slipping away, and with it....my secret garden.

  1. I love your cottage feeling garden, Debbie! And, at home (not @ work), I can always hear the music that accompanies your posts.

I love the sign - I think everyone needs to feel they have a little "secret place" that they can retreat to, don't you? At the end of the post...just for a moment...I had a little teary-eyed feel as I realize that summer IS slipping away and I have not had much time to enjoy it. Thanks for the reminder to slow down and enjoy it. Hope you have a great day at work~ Hugs...Diana

  3. Gorgeous garden, Debbie! I love the color of your yarrow - the yarrow that grows here is white. :)
Thanks for visiting me. I love the birdcage as well, and am thinking of making one like it. That would make a great winter project for me to do!
    Wishing you a lovely day,

  5. I love the look and feel of your garden. I do not have a green thumb of any kind so you can imagine how envious I am of your talent. I try...but it never looks like what you've created.

    Love to you~

  9. Your Secret Garden is so beautiful. As for the snakegrass...if that is what we have here in California I quite like it in dried arrangements. Ours has "rattles" on the tips!
