I'm sharing my summer cloche tonight...before the season changes! It won't be long and I'll be taking out the nest, starfish, and page from a French book(compliments of Tracey from French Larkspur)..and putting an autumn vignette under the glass dome.
I am loving this summer more than ever! The winter here in Michigan was sooooo long, and cold! I thought it would never end. So I'm hanging on to the heat, humidity, and even the thundershowers for as long as possible.
Hopefully the summer cloche will stay for quite a while yet.
As a matter of fact...so comfortable, I forgot to take the table runner off the end of the table!!!
It's hubby's birthday tomorrow..so I had a little "informal" candle light dinner for him....just the two of us. We had baked chicken, fresh corn, and a wonderful pasta salad, with French bread and butter too.
The White Zinfandel was very nice...it's his favorite.
We are simple people, with simple tastes...so nothing fancy..just cozy and comfortable.

I'm sure hubby didn't even notice. He was just so pleased to have his favorite wine, and candles
glowing.
glowing.
Looks like a great night, the candles are beautiful-love that! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so good, wish you two wanted company ;)
Have a great weekend and great birthday celebration tomorrow too. I think it's Sandi's hubby's birthday tomorrow too (Wayside Treasures).

Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. I hope you two have a great night by the water.
I grew up an hour off of Lake Erie and remember the very long winters. Soak it up while you got it!
Hugs and have a fun weekend- Tete
Oh Debbie- You are a good soul! You made a wonderful dinner for THE MAN...and gave him a great TOY. What else could he want? Well, maybe we won't talk about that here, huh?
ReplyDeleteAre you having company this weekend? I can't imagine that you won't! That's what happens when you live on the water...any water! My daughter and BabyE showed up tonight and Daddy is following sometime later. They are meeting my other daughter & sil out for dinner so I have BabyE here (he's sleeping....shhhh). Other than that I am not working this weekend. Praise God and pass the Baileys!...okay...just kidding...I get a headache drinking Baileys..lol
Food & fun? We like simple too (most of the time) except at Holidays when I go ALL out...or for parties....and even some of those are easy.
I know what you mean about Summer because we share Winter Woes, you and me. I love Summer, too, and wish it lasted longer.Fall, however, is my favorite and I would live with that weather all year long. But the snow...and ice...and sleet...and roads...well, you know.
Okay-gonna leave before I write a book- Guess where I am going tomorrow morning? Hmmm...it has white trucks with blue & red stripes...and..oh...wait...maybe it will be a BROWN truck with these letters
P U S

I know what you mean about holding on to summer. I used to dread summer when I lived in my home state of Louisiana. Now I look forward to it and am sad to see it go. Pretty little vignette under glass :-) Happy birthday to your husband!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI'm over here catching up on your posts too!
Don't know how I've missed them, sometimes blogger doesn't do a very good job on new posts!
Anyway, Happy Birthday to your Sweetie! I love your little romantic dinner for two setting.
I am a cloche lover too and the shells and vintage papers look wonderful.
I also adore your garden shed and that sweet birdbath.
Your blog is so beautiful and I love your style. You make everything so lovely and charming.

Though I like the table, my favorite thing is that cloche. I love the page from the book and absolutely MUST copy that. It looks wonderful and I can't wait to see the autumn one!
