Evening at the lakehouse

Hi my friends in blogland~~~it's one of those quiet nights here at the lakehouse. It's very still, and the water is smooth as glass. All I hear are crickets outside singing their summer songs. Once in awhile a dove will coo with it's quiet grace.
The hubby is working tonight...so I'm alone with my thoughts.
The cloud cover is heavy, so the sunset wasn't visible. But..that's okay, because there is that hazy grey effect settling in over the water.
The neighbors lights are just starting to come on.
I love this time of night. It's so peaceful. Even without the sun, it's beautiful.
This is the perfect time to bask in God's glory....feeling His presence...being surrounded by His love and mercy.
It just doesn't get any better than this.
In His Love,
Debbie

  3. I so miss living on a lake. I grew up on a Long Lake north of Alpena. Lately I find myself wishing for a cottage of our own on a lake nearby. Enjoy it for all it's worth. Bless you.

  4. Hi Debbie, those are my favorite kind of nights! I think it's the simplest pleasures in life that are the ones that have the most meaning! I've got lots of black eyed Susan in bloom, too! And I picked a bunch of golden rod the other day, so it really is starting to look almost like fall! Have a wonderful night!

  5. Hi Debbie-I come here and always feel a bit of your serenity slip into my life...I feel like I see your world through your eyes...what a blessing that is-to know that someone is open and honest enough that they are transparent before the Lord..something a lot of us strive for and never fully achieve..and Josh Groban?..well...I was following him before any one even knew who he was. I have been blessed to see him in concert twice and he is even sweeter than his voice sounds. The song playing right now is one of my very favorites and always makes me feel teary-eyed.

I had a long day at work and missed sunset at my own house...the water is dark and heavy tonight with a slight breeze bringing the smell of it onto the porch.

Hope your day was wonderful...and that tomorrow is even better- xxoo Diana

  9. I love evenings like that. Last night was one of those here at my Little Place in the Woods. The beautiful chorus sang some wonderful music here too! The music playing on your blog this morning goes wonderfully with your post.

  10. What a peaceful and serene feeling came over me as I read your blog, Debbie. I love that time of night, too. You can just feel God's arms around you as you relax into them....It certainly doesn't get any better than that.

I'm so glad that you can grab and appreciate those moments when you can, sis, knowing how busy your life is. Peace to you!!
