Vintage linens

Hello, and happy Saturday~~~

I'm in Howell for the weekend. Came down to visit with my girls and their families.

While I'm here, I'm going to help Melissa work in her yard. She is a single mom with two little girls. Melissa works five days a week, and needed some help with weeding and mowing. The weather is supposed to improve, so hopefully we will get a lot accomplished.

Also, while I am here, I would like to visit my favorite antique mall. It's huge!!! They have lots of vintage treasures that I can't resist. I am looking for chandeliers, and just maybe I will find one for a good price.

If I find time, I will stop into a couple of neat vintage shops in downtown Howell.

I finished washing and pressing all of those linens that my friend, Debbie, brought back from Florida. I hate putting them away in cupboards. So they are folded, and stacked in baskets. I also hung some cute towels on the little towel rack that Debbie found on her trip.

If I find more linens this weekend, I'll let you take a look at them.

We use linen napkins. They wash so easily. If they get too stained, I just bleach them and hang them on the line for the sun to whiten. When we have company, they can't believe we actually use linen instead of paper!! Why have them if you aren't going to use them?

Something else I love is vintage pillow cases. They make the bed look so dressed up! If the case is too worn, I save the decorated hems and use them on my shelves. The lace looks so pretty with the tea pots and dishes.

  1. The way you stacked the starched linens in willow and wire baskets is just eye-candy, Debbie! :)
